Grrrrrrrreetings, campers! By popular request, here's "Velma Was A Cheese Hostess", a woodwind trio I wrote a couple of years ago. This is the definitive MIDI file, extracted from the definitive Finale version. Here's all you need to know about it.
1.) The title was gleaned from an issue of the Steve Taylor Clone Club newsletter. (This same newsletter also was the inspiration for the title of my first thrash-wave song, "Chicks In Cars". I oughta dig it up and see what other potential titles are on it.)
2.) My composition teacher at the time gave me an assignment to write a piece with a bassoon part that contained only two pitches - F and B. He was to be the bassoonist, and those were the only notes he knew. I thought that was sufficiently cheesy, and...
3.) The theme, as such, was the second motif from "Unforgettable", the line that goes "that's what you are." Ah, what timing, eh?
4.) It is the only piece in my canon (uh, I mean, in the loose pile of schtuff I'll admit to writing) that contains any capital letters in the title.
The tracks are 1.) Flute, 2.) Clarinet, and 3.) Bassoon.
